Police arrest man accused of shooting four transvestites in São José do Rio Preto

Last Friday (17), the São José do Rio Preto police arrested the man accused of killing two transvestites and leaving other victims injured.

While passing through Calil Homs Street, close to the city's airport, the suspect was approached by a traffic stop. Initially, the man presented himself with a fake ID and driver's license, which were soon noticed by the police with the naked eye, as the photo was pasted on the protective plastic of the documents.

With characteristics similar to those reported by the victims, the police decided to search the pension where he lived. There, a loaded 38-caliber revolver was found, which already warranted arrest in the act for illegal possession of a weapon.

"He denied everything at first, but when we arrived at the residence, we found the gun, medicine for impotence, the motorcycle, then he confessed, but said he acted alone", declared Major Luís Roberto Vicente of the Military Police.

Soon after, it was discovered that the suspect was an escapee from a prison in the interior of São Paulo, he had already been convicted of rape and murder.

A transvestite was also arrested on suspicion of having ordered the crimes. According to the police, she acted as a "pimp" charging other transvestites a fee so they could prostitute themselves in some parts of the city.

The shooter and the transvestite were seen together a few times. All affected victims had refused to pay the fee.
