Poland: Party wins right to carry out anti-gay propaganda on public roads

Poland's far-right party, Polish Renaissance (NOP – its acronym in Polish) had authorization from the local Public Prosecutor's Office to advertise its logo on public roads. So far, no problems. However, the party's logo is two men having sex under the prohibited symbol and with the words "Fascist Intolerance".

Poland's LGBT activists are calling on the country's court to review its stance on the poster. The NGO "Campaign Against Homophobia" said it will speak to the Minister of Justice so that he can intervene to remove the posters from the streets.

The NOP is an openly anti-LGBT far-right party. According to activists in Poland, he is responsible for several attacks against gays.

Despite the extremely homophobic scenario in Poland, where around 80% are against LGBT rights, the Polish parliament elected the first transsexual parliamentarian, Robert Biedron.
