Mayor of Caruaru signs decree for trans population; know more

Last Tuesday (27), Mayor José Queiroz (PDT) signed the decree in favor of the trans population during the Meeting of LGBT Managers of Pernambuco, in Caruaru.

Once signed, transsexuals will be able to use their social name in public offices. The mayor spoke about the creed: "In Caruaru, we effectively practice citizenship. Caruaru City Hall is a reference at the forefront of LGBT public policies." 
 
"Today, following the example of the state and federal governments, we take a leap forward in history with the signing of the decree that ensures trans men and women are recognized in public spaces by their social names", said the mayor.
