According to the mayor, Daniela Mercury “disrespected” the municipality. “What [she] did to my city was not a normal thing for a person who has sensitivity and a family,” said the politician. In addition to the singer's support for the play, Izaías Régis also criticized a photo used by the Bahian on the screen that shows her and her wife, Malu Verçosa, “on top of each other”, in the words of the mayor.
