Berlin Festival gay award goes to Julianne Moore film

The film "The Kids Are All Right", which tells the story of the son of a lesbian couple who, upon turning 18, goes in search of his biological father, was the winner of the gay award at the Berlin Festival, known as the Teddy Award or Queer Berlinale. The film is directed by Lisa Cholodenko, whose CV includes the series "The L Word" and "Six Feet Under".

The work was very well received by critics who were on duty at the 60th edition of the Berlin Festival. According to the local press, the big surprise was the performance of actor Mark Ruffalo who, "was always seen in roles as a police officer, surprising with a comedic performance". For the Berlinale journalists, "The Kids Are All Right" was the best North American production presented at the festival.

In addition to Julianne Moore, the cast includes Anet Bening, Morre's companion; Mia Wasikowska and Josh Hutcherson play the couple's children: Joni and Laser. The starting point of the story is when Joni turns 18 and, without her mothers knowing, goes in search of her biological father. That's where actor Mark Ruffalo comes in, who is a restaurant owner and the biological father. From the meeting between the biological father and the mothers, a series of events and family secrets come to light. The film is scheduled to premiere in the second half of the year, in Brazil.
