Gay Award: Elton John and Lady Gaga are among the nominees for the GLAAD awards; know more

GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, in English) announced this week the nominees for its annual awards, which pay tribute to those who best represented the gay community in music, cinema, television, comics and even journalism.
 
In the Best Musical Artist category, the nominees were Lady Gaga, Elton John, the group Vampire Weekend, Godfrapp and Tegan and Sara.

In "Best Film", there are the features “Dallas Buyers Club”, which features Jared Leto in the role of a transsexual, which won him the Golden Globe for supporting actor; "Philomena", which we have already talked about here on the A Capa website and tells the story of a mother searching for her son; "Verses from a Crime"; “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” and the much talked about “Blue is the Warmest Color”.

Among the series, “Grey's Anatomy”, “Orphan Black”, “The Fosters”, “Shameless” and “Pretty Little Liars” compete in the Best Drama category. The comedy category includes “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”, “Glee”, “Modern Family”, “Please Like Me” and “Orange is the New Black”.

This year, the GLAAD award will be divided into two stages. The first will be at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, in Los Angeles, on April 12th. The second takes place on May 3rd at the Waldorf Astoria hotel, in New York.
