President of the Republic will have trans daughter in Globo miniseries that premieres in January

Like The Cape I had already told you, Globo's new miniseries, "Brado Retumbante", will have a transsexual among its main characters.

The plot revolves around the president of a fictional country, but which is actually a clear reference to Brazil. The fifty-something hunk Domingos Montagner will play Paulo Ventura, an honest opposition deputy who ends up becoming president of the Chamber through the maneuvers of a group of corrupt politicians. With the death of the country's president and vice-president in a plane crash, Ventura becomes President of the Republic.

He then calls his ex-wife, played by Maria Fernanda Cândido, to act as first lady. It is at this moment that Júlio, the couple's son, returns to the country. The young man, who is gay, had moved away from his family due to his father's rejection.

To everyone's surprise, Júlio returns as Julie, a transsexual. Actor Murilo Amarcolo was chosen for the role. When the story was announced, there was speculation that model Lea T. could play the role of Julie.

The miniseries is written by Euclydes Marinho and directed by Ricardo Waddington. With eight chapters, "Brado Retumbante" will be shown from January 17th to 27th next year.
