Kenyan PM says gays should be arrested

Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga (photo) defended the arrest of homosexuals in his country.

"Any man found having sex with another man should be arrested," Odinga said. "Even women will be arrested," the prime minister added.

Odinga's words came after the release of census data, which showed an exact split in the number of men and women in the country. For this reason, according to the prime minister, there is "no reason" for homosexuality. "This type of behavior will not be tolerated in this country. Men and women who engage in such acts deserve to be arrested and will be arrested," Odinga said.

In his speech, the prime minister also suggested that Kenya's new Constitution could technically legalize gay marriage. However, as we know, homosexuality is illegal in the country and can be punished with more than 14 years in prison.
