Alagoas Attorney Generates Controversy with Discriminatory Comment against LGBTQIA+ Community

A prosecutor from Alagoas recently became controversial when she made a comment considered discriminatory against the LGBTQIA+ community during a session of the state Public Ministry (MP-AL).

This incident, which generated controversy following the unacceptable attitude of a high-ranking member of the MP-AL, had a negative impact on the institution's image, fueling debates about the body's stance in relation to human rights.

In the session in question, attorney Teresa Machado made an inappropriate comment about an article proposed for the creation of a coordination for sexual diversity. Machado declared during the session that the proposal was “complete nonsense”. This unacceptable comment left the LGBTQIA+ community shocked and displeased.

After the prosecutor's prejudiced and unfounded speech, there was a flood of criticism against the prosecutor's attitude on social media.
