“Gay cure” psychiatrist suspended for having gay sex with patients

Contrary to his own theory that homosexuality is a curable disease, a psychiatrist who claims to be able to reverse sexual orientation contrary to heterosexuality was suspended from his professional activities for, precisely, having sexual relations with his patients… gays. Dr. Melvyn Iscove, 72, is registered as a psychiatrist with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, Canada, but was suspended on suspicion of having relationships with his patients. The committee alleged that Iscove believed that homosexuality is a “sexual disorder”, was caught in a scene of “mutual masturbation and oral sex” with two male patients during therapy sessions and had engaged in penetration with another. “Neither complainant described emotional or romantic aspects of sexual activity with Dr. Iscove, and both said that, at some point, they thought sexual activity was part of therapy and an attempt to cure them of homosexuality by involving the acts, instead of fantasizing about them”, states the committee responsible for suspending the “professional”. According to information from the Canadian website “Toronto Star”, the allegations against the psychiatrist date back to the 2000s. After a hearing, the doctor's license was suspended. Iscove also faces a lawsuit related to allegations of “improper conduct in a public bathroom”, that is, the famous “bathroom”. He denies the accusations.
