Radio presenter Luiz Gama is removed after homophobic comment

Luiz Gama, a radio host from Rádio BandNews Goiânia from Goiás, was removed after making a homophobic comment against journalist Matheus Ribeiro.

After the repercussion of the case, BandNews directors issued a note. “The management of Rádio BandNews Goiânia removed narrator Luiz Gama, who was part of its sports team, after comments that were interpreted as racist and homophobic. The decision was communicated live by anchor Marcos Villas Boas, on Monday morning. When defending the principles of defense against attacks related to skin color or sexual orientation, Villas Boas said that the broadcaster would not keep on its staff “those who do not dance in accordance” with these convictions”.
