Ratinho defends Levy Fidelix from accusations of homophobia: “Freedom of expression”

The host Carlos Massa received the defeated presidential candidate Levy Fidelix this Thursday (30) on Programa do Ratinho, SBT. And he defended the politician for having been homophobic in an electoral debate.

+ Levy can pay 1 million for homophobic statements

In this ocasion, Levy Fidelix stated that the majority must face the minority and that gays should be treated far away from straights.

Ratinho declared that he did not consider Levy to be homophobic: "I didn't think he had a homophobic character. It's nonsense", stated the presenter, who only showed the excerpt in which he says that "the excretory system does not reproduce" and cut out the strongest statements.

"I said what a father and a grandfather wanted. Imagine if we don't have men in the future, with children and grandchildren? We have to prevail with our genetics. But I don't have a homophobic character (…) Imagine if Adam was gay", he defended Fidelix.

The presenter took advantage of the mention of religion to say: "If you throw a hundred women on an island and come back 100 years later, nothing happens there."

Levy declared that his statements are "scientific" and that Luciana Genro (PSOL) encouraged the LGBT community to demonstrate at their home and at the party. "People who have their differences and have other practices and options, do so, but in a gentle way and without showing it."

Ratinho once again agreed with Levy and said that the candidate has the right to express what he thinks. "Everyone has their own opinion. Everyone has to have freedom of expression."
