Six months after the fast food chain's first franchise Chick-fil-A be opened in United Kingdom, it was closed this week after LGBT activists protested against the American network, accusing it of its history of donating to LGBTphobic organizations in the United States. The information is from the magazine Attitude.

Opened in Reading, Berkshire, in October 2019, the restaurant was located in The Oracle shopping center and was undergoing a six-month test period. As soon as it was founded, it became the target of criticism from local activists. And not for nothing.

In 2012, the network's president, Dan T. Cathy, publicly opposed to equal marriage. Just a few years earlier, Chick-fil-A was already going through a public relations crisis when Forbes got up, once again, the history of millionaire donations to organizations ranging from houses that provided “gay cure” “therapy” to fundamentalist religious groups.

After the protests, Oracle decided not to continue franchising the restaurant beyond the expected six months. Chick-fil-A has already announced that it has cut ties with conservative entities.
