Revisiting clichés

Hey guys! Well, I gave the cake on Friday, right? But my day was very, very confusing, so I didn't even have time to come here and open the door to my world for you to enter.

On the other hand, the weekend was one of intense production. It's funny that, as soon as we started our meetings, I talked about not liking writing on Saturdays and Sundays, remember? For those who write live, it really is a bit discouraging, because of the low online audience. I joked once on Facebook that on weekdays people turn their services into internet cafes, so a lot of people are connected.

With the big update made to our story, I'm starting to notice that we're close to the final stretch. In fact, this is quite curious. A long time ago I discovered what the end of this whole plot would be, and that was precisely why I concluded that it could become a book. Yes, I thought the idea was good and realized that the conflicts would yield curious and exciting sequences. This makes the part of creating the crumb a bit distressing. Like, the thought goes faster than the concrete action of writing, but we know that it is necessary to give a complete basis for the already foreseen ending. Predicted by the author, of course, because a good literary creation is one that surprises the reader.

I know it's a big cliché for every writer to say that characters create life and that situations impose themselves. But this is true, believe me. Of course, the author has the power of life and death, he can decide to eliminate any character. However, as the story develops step by step, this powerful person sometimes creates situations that require solutions independent of his will. Simply because even in the most absurd of fictions it is necessary to give credibility, and pushing the envelope can ruin all the work developed.

That's it, the work has to surprise the reader, but with coherence and truth. Achieving this objective takes away much of the power of life and death from the author, in the name of accepting the final result to be presented.

Kisses and until next time!
