The city of Rio de Janeiro opened a new shelter for homeless lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender people, the CPA (Provisional Reception Center). The information is from Newspapers in Brazil.

Opened last Sunday (28) by SMASDH (Municipal Secretariat for Social Assistance and Human Rights) and Ceds-Rio (Special Coordination for Sexual Diversity), the house, located on R. Tenente Possolo, in the Center, has 50 spaces – with bedrooms, bathrooms, outdoor areas and all social assistance services offered by SMASDH.

“The shelter with spaces aimed at the LGBT public arrives at one of the most critical moments we are going through. Faced with the Covid-19 crisis, this group was also hit hard”, said Nélio Georgini, special coordinator of Sexual Diversity, at the inauguration.
