The drag queen Sherry Pie was disqualified from the reality show RuPaul's Drag Race (VH1) after being accused of “catfishing” – that is, pretending to be someone you are not to scam a victim, abuse them in some way or commit fraud. The information is from Entertainment Weekly.

Joey Gugliemelli (the drag queen's birth name), 28, was removed from the competition by VH1 “out of respect for the hard work of the other queens”.

Drag has been accused by five men so far. They reported to the press or in social media posts that the artist approached them claiming to have professional intentions – but in fact she convinced them to film them, against their will, in sexual scenes that the accusers described as “traumatic” and “ embarrassing.”

Sherry Pie said in a statement that she is seeking help to treat her mental health.
