The Mister Brasil Diversity competition began in São Paulo this Tuesday (21). Candidates representing 14 states arrived in the capital of São Paulo and had their first meeting at Hotel 155, where they are staying.
The boys had time to socialize and get to know each other better during lunch at the Cozinha dos Anjos restaurant, in Jardins. From there, the troupe returned to the hotel to begin the series of individual interviews with the competition organizers.
The organizers sought to find out a little more about the candidates' life stories, the reason why they want to become Mister Brasil Diversidade and the first impressions they had of the entire group.
After the battery of questions, the Misters participated in a talk with Ideraldo Beltrame, president of the São Paulo Gay Parade. Ideraldo managed to capture the attention of the candidates, talking a little about the concept of beauty, virility and femininity and how these issues are very confused in our society. The president also outlined an overview of the gay movement in recent decades in Brazil and around the world.
"I believe that many of my militant colleagues may find it futile for me to support a beauty contest, but for me, this is not just about an award to choose the most beautiful, it is a political issue as well. You can be sure that you are doing part of the history of the movement for applying for the title of representative of diversity, by exposing themselves in such a courageous way to the whole of society", declared Ideraldo.
After the talk, the candidates divided into groups and had to give a short presentation on one of the topics explained by Beltrame. At the end of the group dynamics, the boys went to the launch of the Mundo Pride travel agency, aimed exclusively at the gay public, at Galeria Romero Brito.
During the cocktail, the Misters were a hit with the press and the public and threw themselves into the celebrity moment. The boys also showed their groupie side and took photos with drag queen Silvetty Montilla and singer Lorena Simpson. After the party, there was dinner and then bed, because the candidates' schedules this Wednesday will be very hectic.
