Came out of the closet! British athlete who will compete in the Olympics in Rio reveals he is gay

Tom Bosworth, British race walker, declared to be gay in an interview on a BBC program, a radio and television channel in the United Kingdom, last Monday (12). Bosworth said he made "a big decision" after making the revelation.

"I felt it was the right time to talk about my sexuality. I've reached another level, now I'm in greater demand from the media", said the 25-year-old, a reference in sport on the local scene and training for Olympics do RioOf 2016.

Tom holds the records in the 5km and 10km races in the United Kingdom, as well as being British number one for 20km – the latter is the only one of the three events on the Olympic program.

His performance in international competitions, however, is not as encouraging: in the 20 km, he was 24th in the last World of the sport, played in China in 2015, and 12th in the 2014 European Championship.
"The revelation will not change anything in my life. I am comfortable and in a relationship feliz in the last four years", he added, having already told friends and family before.
