Salvador hosts the XVII edition of Miss Brasil Gay

On Tuesday (01), Salvador hosts the XVII edition of the Miss Brasil Gay Contest, North and Northeast version. The event is organized by actor André Luiz and already has 25 people registered.

Each candidate will make two entries. One with typical attire, which reveals the cultural aspects of where they represent, and another with evening attire. You already know this one, there's a lot of feathers, sequins, ruffles, luxury and glamor are taken to their limits, or beyond in some cases.

"The idea is to show this wonderful side of the art of transformism, offering a spectacle of luxury and beauty to the public who often do not have access to this type of art", says André.

Before reaching the competition stage, candidates go through a rigorous selection process. It is observed, for example, whether the candidate has already undergone any intervention to become more feminine, such as changes to her breasts and face, which is considered unequal in the contest.

"It's a gay male event dedicated to the fabulous universe of women", says André. To complete the night, there is a performance by Marcela Nascimento, who brings to life the singer Maria Bethânia. Ketlly Verônica, winner of the 2010 edition, will also be present to pass the ribbon, following tradition.
