Sandy responds to criticism about his son's education: 'It's okay if he's gay'

Sandy spoke for the first time about the repercussion she generated on social media over the fact that her son Theo, aged 4, from her marriage to Lucas Lima, played with a doll, and stated that “it’s okay if he’s gay”.

The singer's statement was made in an interview with presenter Amaury Jr., who echoed the image posted by Lucas on his Instagram account that shows an Elsa doll, from the film Frozen.

“We didn’t imagine there would be so many reactions, as if this were a big deal [allowing our child to play with a doll], you know? And, if you want to know more in depth, if he was or became gay, he wouldn't have a problem with that either. We are all equal, all brothers”, said the artist.

Still talking about her firstborn's education, Sandy said that she and her husband care about giving their son a good education, so that he learns to respect differences when he grows up.

“He plays with dolls, dolls, cars, balls. We do not place any restrictions. In our view, there is no such thing as a toy for girls and boys. We are raising him to not be a chauvinist, sexist and prejudiced person”, he pointed out.
