“LGBT traffic lights” are spread across a Spanish city

The city of San Fernando, located in the province of Cadiz, Andalusia region, in Spain is increasingly egalitarian and teaching a lesson in respect and combating intolerance against LGBTs.
Passersby passing through the city's streets will notice the implementation of modified traffic lights with gay and lesbian couples spread across ten signposts.
Ana Lorenzo, city councilor and advisor for Inclusion and Social Affairs, said that the installation is part of a project against LGBTphobia approved by the City Council in 2016, whose objective is to “normalize among neighbors that there are diverse couples”.
“We want to recognize and draw attention to affective-sexual diversity”, said the councilor, who also stated that the news surprised residents.
The country is not a pioneer in spreading traffic lights of this type. Previously, similar ones were installed in Vienna, Linz and Salzburg in Austria and London in England.
