Silas Malafaia says he will sue ABGLT; entity claims that pastor incites violence

After learning about the action taken by the Brazilian Association of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transvestites and Transsexuals (ABGLT) forwarded to the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) asking them to take action in relation to the program "Vitória em Cristo", believing that it incites violence against the LGBT community, pastor Silas Malafaia, presenter of the program, responded to the Association with another video.

Right from the start, Malafaia says that "once again the gay movement used the lowest level" to attack him. Then the pastor says that the gays want to blame him criminally. "They [gay movement] were ecstatic and sent a document to the Federal Public Ministry to take my program off the air and penalize the broadcasters and penalize me criminally."

Malafaia once again says that he does not "incite violence against gays" and states that he does not ordered "the cudgel to be brought down on the gay community in order to attack", but who, solely and exclusively, asked the Catholic Church to react to the "No Saint Protects You" campaign, which in his opinion ridiculed the Catholic Church. When explaining his speeches, Malafaia says that the gay movement "acts like clowns and should dress like a bozo to appear".

"I wanted to show something that I have been denouncing for a long time: the most intolerant group in postmodernity are gay advocacy groups. They cannot stand criticism, they want to silence anyone who takes a stand against their practice, that's what they They want to do it to me and they've tried several times. I've never done it, but I'm going to take action against ABGLT because of this video", warns Malafaia.

"What Pastor Silas Malafaia does is encourage violence", says Toni Reis
After learning about Pastor Silas Malafaia's video response and his action against ABGLT, the report from The Cape contacted Toni Reis, president of the entity. Reis declared that the gay community felt "injured" by the pastor's statements, which ordered the Catholic Church to bring down the cudgel on the LGBT community.

"What we did was send a power of attorney to the MPF to investigate Malafaia's program. ABGLT does not carry out investigations, we just represent a community and they felt offended by the pastor's words in the program. When Malafaia speaks to the Church As a Catholic, he is encouraging violence. Imagine if I were on TV talking about bringing down the cudgel on the black community or women? the president of the Association.

Regarding the issue of the video being edited, Toni Reis said that this does not diminish the seriousness of the pastor's statement. "We will meet the Minister of Communications (Paulo Bernardo) to discuss this matter and tell the minister that every time he [Malafaia] mentions us on a program, we will ask for the right to reply."

"Television is a public concession and cannot be used to incite violence and what this gentleman, psychologist and pastor Silas Malafaia does in his program is to incite violence against the gay community", concluded Toni Reis.
