“I’m the first actor graduated from EAD to participate in a reality show”, says Igor Cotrim

On the eve of being cloistered in "Fazenda", a reality show on Record that began its second edition yesterday, actor Igor Cotrim gave an interview to the reporter. The Cape, present at the premiere of the film "Elvis and Madonna", held at the Mix Brasil de Cinema Festival.

The film tells the story of transvestite Madonna (Igor Cotrim), a hairdresser who dreams of starring in a big show and who begins a romantic relationship with lesbian photographer Elvis, played by actress Simone Spoladore.

In the report, Igor revealed that to play the transvestite he received preparation from former Dzi Croquetes Bayard Toneli. "He was my body torturer," said the actor. Cotrim also talks about how he learned to dance and walk in high heels, that he went to the Lapa neighborhood to observe transvestites and that he believes the film will be very well received by the public.

And as could not be missed, Igor also talks about his participation in the second edition of "A Fazenda", where artists are cloistered and subjected to countless tests. "I'm the first actor graduated from EAD to participate in a reality show", says the actor. Check out the full conversation below.

How was the preparation for the character?
I did some work with Bayard Toneli from Dzi Croquetes, he did the body preparation part, he was my body torturer when it came to walking, they fixed the nails on my fingers so I could work on the lightness of my hands. To give you an idea, he would kneel on my rib cage to adjust the floating ribs at my waist. It took two months of work. I also did work to respect the character, because my character is not “Transamerica”, who wants to cut his dick, my character is total flex, she takes on men, takes on women, so much so that she jokes, “Betty would do it” . Marcelo (Laffite, director of the film) gave me the freedom to put in some Madonna stuff, like “who's that girl?”, playing with Elvis. We had a problem: we ran out of money to produce the film and it took us seven months to finish the film.

How did the invitation come about?
My wife was looking for, she works at an agency, a real transvestite to make the film. When I found out about this I went crazy. Then Bayard introduced me to Marcelo and I sang my song, which appears at the end of the film, so I went to audition. I shaved completely for the test and then I got the role. It's my film debut and I also sing in the film. There are two of my songs. I sing the middle one “A minha alma de Mulher” which is a play on the names of Marcelo’s short films.

What was it like wearing high heels?
The problem was that they gave me the high heels for the dance that day, when I left through the emergency exit I fell down the stairs and almost broke my leg in three places, it was horrible. But there were several people in front to save me, people kissing and dancing and I managed to hide it well and damn, it was a really crazy experience.

What about mannerisms and slang?
I went to Cabaré Casablanca in Lapa and watched the transvestites... But, it's no use. I had to do that very cliché thing: I had to find my transvestite and she has a crazy journey of wanting to do the show and that's what sets her apart, so I added crazy things... I tried to make her as close to the real thing as possible. possible. Even though there are scenes where I look like the elephant man, there are some moments when I'm crying and my face looks horrible, but it's good because at least it's real. There are times when I look cute, but there are times when I look horrible, which is normal, not Simone (Spoladore), she's beautiful all the time.

Do you believe the public will accept the film well?
Go. A person who watched the audience test in Paraíba told Marcelo the following: “look, after ten minutes of the film I didn't give a shit if it was a transvestite, I saw a love story”.

Did you do distance learning?
I'm the first student from EAD (USP's School of Dramatic Arts) to participate in a reality show, what the fuck right?! Sorry Alfredo Mesquita (founder of the School of Dramatic Art).

But how did the invitation to “A Fazenda” come about?
I was doing the soap opera “Chamas da Vida” in the same group as Dado Dolabela and they didn't even let me die, my contract ended and they hired a stunt double to die in my place. I was very sad about it, but when they called me and invited me to work on the farm I started laughing. Is this true? Yes, let's give Record one more chance, because Rede Record always REMEMBERS you.
