SP: NGO promotes kisses against the ban on minors in parades

Militants from São José do Rio Preto are organizing a kiss for Thursday 21st, in front of the city's Children and Adolescents Court, in protest against the decision of judge Osni Assis Pereira, who prohibited the participation of unaccompanied teenagers in the gay parade .

The ban determined by the judge was a response to the request for a permit made to the city hall by Gada (Support Group for AIDS Patients), responsible for organizing the parade, regarding the participation of teenagers between 12 and 18 years old.

For him, the event can harm the moral and sexual development of teenagers. “These young people, who do not yet have their options defined (sic), are highly influenceable, and can be led by the drinks and unseemly behavior of a minority of participants,” declared the judge.

In April, the same judge decided to remove custody of a baby from a transsexual and her partner, going against the advice of a psychologist and a social worker. RGL, 30 years old, and PH, 38 years old, had been taking care of the son of teenager Fernanda, 15 years old, a friend of the transsexual, for four months.

Lawyer Flávia Longui, from Gada, stated that she will file a writ of mandamus against the judge's decision. For her, the judge was prejudiced and acted in disagreement, against the rights guaranteed in the Constitution and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
