“Gay sweater” is launched at a fashion show in Canada with an unprecedented proposal

The Center for Gender and Sexual Diversity in Canada launched this week, during Toronto Fashion Week, which took place on Tuesday (24), the first "openly gay" sweater.

The piece aims to raise awareness among people who use words referring to diversity to classify someone or some object as negative. After all, who has never heard "that's so gay" as if it were something offensive?

"The idea for the sweater was born out of a desire to educate and encourage people to use the term gay correctly. We want the conversation around the gay sweater to inspire those who use the word gay without realizing the negative impact of their actions to change their behavior," says Jeremy Dias, director of the Center.

But the news doesn't stop there. The piece was made with hair – that's right, real hair – from hundreds of homosexuals. Who would use it?
