Tadd Fujikawa becomes the first golfer in the world to come out of the closet: “I'm gay”

United States golfer Tadd Fujikawa became the first golf player to publicly admit his homosexuality. At 27, Tadd spoke openly about his sexuality for the first time in an Instagram post, in which he decided to come out of the closet. “So, I'm gay. Many of you may already know this. I don't expect everyone to understand or accept me. But please be kind enough not to push your beliefs on me or anyone else in the LGBT community,” said the 27-year-old athlete. “My hope is that this post inspires each of you to be more empathetic and loving towards each other,” he concluded.
