Football coach says he would like to see players admitting their homosexuality

The coach of Spanish football team Valencia, Unai Emery, said this week in an interview that he "would be delighted if any player admitted they were gay". According to the technician, it would be possible to "control the situation and help them".

Unai Emery also refuted the recent statements by the Italian national team coach, Marcelo Lippi, that it was impossible for gays to exist in football.

"There's no denying it. The world is opening up, even though sport is more conservative. I even think I've had homosexual friends, because we notice the hints in the air, but they never told me anything", declared the coach.
