Tetine, an electronic music duo based in London, performs today in SP

More recognized in Europe, Tetine performs today (22) at Coppola, in São Paulo. Instrumental electronic music duo, mixing Rio funk with electro and rock, the two members, Bruno Verner and Eliete Mejorado, promise to return to the beginning of their career and define their newest work, “LICK My Favela”, as “post-funk” . History Bruno Verner and Eliete Mejorado formed the duo Tetine in 1995, a multimedia combo of “organic and sensorial” music. Perhaps the best word to define Tetine is convergence: generous doses of music, several portions of energy, hints of madness and lots and lots of multimedia interaction are the recipe. “Alexander's Grave” was their first album, released in 1997 and paved the way for the duo's cathartic performances. With the same name, the band's first show was emblematic and precursory. “A narrative concert about the issue of AIDS, love, envy and deaths in relationships”, explains the duo. With the release of their second album (Creme) and the musical show Eletrobrecht, they toured the interior of São Paulo and had their clips shown at festivals and on MTV. The following year comes Música de Amor, consolidating the band's maturity, leaving aside the (good) experimentalism a little and entering the world of electro (not all bad). The fourth work is called Bonde do Tetão. It's one mockery after another. Good electrofunk. LICK My Favela is Tetine's new album and will only be released in England, Japan and the USA, through the English label Soul Jazz. According to the band members, this latest work is a “back to basics”, using music only as a basis for stories and poetry. It's worth checking out the band's sound, as Tetine hasn't been to Brazil since last year.
