Actress Lea DeLaria, from the series Orange is the New Black, was in Brazil for the 18th São Paulo LGBT Pride Parade last Sunday and said that she considers Thammy very similar to her.
Lea, who recently said she will no longer participate in the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival, which refuses to welcome transsexuals, was featured in the Netflix car, responsible for the series.
"When I arrived in Brazil, I saw this photo of a Brazilian lesbian actress, she is the daughter of a famous singer. Thammy Gretchen. The girl is a Brazilian version of me!", said Lea to Brasil Post
"She was in a soap opera with a large audience, right? Well, somewhere in Brazil, a girl like her will watch Thammy and think "there's someone like me, I'm not alone".
