Transsexual will receive compensation of R$30 for harassment at work

The Superior Labor Court awarded compensation worth R$30 to a transgender woman who was a victim of harassment at work. As justification, the TST alleged that the worker was reprimanded by the employer when she did not use her new civilian clothes (the one she registered for) in the workplace. Furthermore, the professional was overlooked by a manager who refused to participate in meetings with his colleague. Women were also prohibited from using the women's bathroom. Tired, she resigned. The employer claimed, in its defense, that it hired a professional into its staff and not a natural person with a code name. Regarding the bathroom, the municipality said it created a unisex bathroom after complaints. The TST's decision was unanimous and can still be appealed. The identities of both parties were not revealed.
