15-year-old transvestite is shot on the highway in Feira de Santana

A 15-year-old transvestite was shot in the early hours of last Tuesday (24/02) on the BR – 116/Sul highway near Feira de Santana, in Bahia. After being shot in the buttocks, back and belly, the teenager was taken to the Cleriston Andrade General Hospital and is not at risk of death.

The young woman, used to hitchhiking on the road, got into a red car with three men inside. After refusing to have sex with them, she was shot. The transvestite left Aracaju for Minas Gerais, with the dream of implanting silicone.

After learning about the case through the newspaper Tribuna Feirense, the Freedom Equality and Homosexual Citizenship Group (GLICH) went to the hospital to visit the teenager.

In an official statement, the president of GLICH, Rafael Carvalho, regretted what happened and reported the measures that will be taken to provide full support to the victim. "We will be seeking clarifications from the police station and the delegate in charge of the case and a request that the case be investigated thoroughly and that the culprits be brought forward, investigated and punished", says the letter.

The group will also offer transportation for the teenager to return to her hometown and spend time with her family.
