Dressed as a woman, the actor embodies Caio Fernando Abreu's characters in a monologue

“People look at my body and see a man, but when they look at my face they see a woman and not a transvestite”, says actor and journalist Rodolfo Lima, 31. Inspired by the female characters of writer Caio Fernando Abreu, the monologue "Requiem p/ 1 sad boy", adapted and performed by the actor, will have a unique performance next Tuesday (02/09), at Teatro Vila in São Paulo.

The play, directed by Ivania Davi and which tells the story of Alice, a forty-year-old and lonely woman, was born in 2003 at Teatro de Arena and had its official premiere at the 12th Curitiba Theater Festival. Since then, it has been presented in Campinas, Assis, Mogi das Cruzes, Itapevi, Santo André and São José dos Campos. In 2005 and 2006 he performed 5 seasons in alternative locations in São Paulo. “The play has always been performed in houses to give the performance a more intimate feel”, expresses Rodolfo.

"Requiém p/1 sad boy" has already received approval from Caio Fernando Abreu's family.

This time, the performance promises to be more melancholy due to the presence of the farewell. The actor says goodbye to the character Alice to dedicate himself to his new work "All the Hours of the End" and pays tribute to her friend, the actor and educator Marcus Lima – who passed away on July 31st. “Part of the proceeds will be donated to my friend’s family. Marcos saw the play on several occasions and often gave me money to buy the makeup,” he says.
