At the beginning of the month, we told here at A Capa, the story of Roman Blank, a 95-year-old man, who survived the Second World War, and admitted his homosexuality to his family.

Now, we will tell you the story of Patricia Davies, a veteran, who also survived the hardships of the Nazi period, and at the age of 90 had the courage to transition gender to adapt to her female identity.

Peter was a soldier, married to a woman for 63 years, but deep down he always knew he didn't belong.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, she says that "I've known since I was three years old, when I met a girl called Patricia and I felt like I wanted to be like her."

Patricia remembers that in 1987 she opened up about her gender identity to her wife, who was understanding and offered her clothes and jewelry so that her husband could feel at ease, and better, in his own home.

"It was a weight off my shoulders. I was living a lie", concludes the elderly woman, who had the support and acceptance of most of her neighbors.
