Widow of actor Sir Laurence Olivier does not deny suggestions of his bisexuality

In an interview with the BBC, Joan Ploywright, widow of English actor Sir Laurence Olivier, stated, indirectly, that her husband was bisexual. For the first time, the widow responded to all the insinuations, which began at the beginning of last year with the release of a biography of Oliver, without denying them. The bibliographical work published details of her alleged relationship with actors Henry Ainley and Danny Kave. During the interview, Ploywright stated that she does not believe “there is a need to defend her memory. His performances, his greatness as an artist are there.” Laurence Olivier, who became famous for playing Hamlet and Richard III, died in 1989 at the age of 82.
