Nesta quarta-feira (29), comemora-se o Dia Nacional da Visibilidade Trans. Nesta data, em 2004, lideranças LGBTQ+ se reuniram no Congresso Nacional para lançar a campanha “Travesti e Respeito”. É, portanto, um dia para comemorarmos avanços e refletirmos sobre os obstáculos a serem ultrapassados na luta pelos direitos das pessoas trans.

Pensando nisso, fizemos esta seleção de 跨性别男人, que, além de serem lindos, também o são pelo que representam na causa.

1. João W. Nery

João W. Nery (1950–2018) é considerado o primeiro homem trans do Brasil a fazer a cirurgia de redesignação sexual. Além de psicólogo e escritor, ele é pioneiro na luta pelos direitos LGBTQ brasileiros.

It’s a moment of acknowledging my own accomplishments. I survived till age 40 and my equinox. I’ve been on HRT for half of my life! Not just celebrating the physical, but definitely partially the physical journey. Because… this is what my 40 year old male body looks like. I am understanding my value as a person in a deep and embodied way for the first time. That saying “fake it till you make it” was my survival tactic but I feel like I’ve actually finally made it.
