Holidays

Nuessa! I haven't written in a long time! I miss you! But to justify my absence I'm going to write about my vacation.

Our vacation! Yes, because a fan who is a fan goes on vacation together so as not to let go of the cuteness.

We went to Trancoso, a place I already knew from having worked on a season 4 years ago. I met him but as I went for work it wasn't the same, after all, I was serving people who were on vacation. Therefore, I thought I needed to go back to really get to know the place. And look, it was AWESOME!

Tatu didn't know the south of Bahia and unlike the honeymoon trip we took to Floripa – where as soon as she set foot in the city she commented: “I would live here” – she didn't like it very much. She didn't think there was much to do, after all, we were going in March.

But Trancoso has this peculiarity. Initially you don't think it's so wonderful, but I usually say that it lasts a maximum of 48 hours. And it lasted less than I imagined.

On the first day, we went to a very cool and welcoming kiosk/bar called Tostex. There's a version of it here in SP, on Haddock Lobo Street, but Tostex Praia is completely different from any beach “kiosk” you've come across. There is ONLY lounge-type electronic music, with some House touches. It has an absurdly incredible decor and is extremely cozy.

The service is SUPER friendly and the food, especially the prestigious sweet tostex, is amazing. Of course, everything has a price, bottled beer, for example, costs R$7,00, but you know what, it's worth it. The structure is absurd. In high season they organize some electronic clubs that the whole world knows. Oh! Bathroom doors are synonymous with the names of our most “deep” intimacies… lol

In fact, speaking of the world, the south of Bahia and especially Trancoso have a lot of foreigners. It's a very rustic place, from the inns and restaurants, but the rustic mixes with charm and the prices have kept up with the glamor that the town has gained in the last 10 years. But if you research well and go in good times, the prices are affordable and everything is very cheap.

There, even street vendors are more prepared to welcome foreigners than Gol check-in employees. In fact, we made friends with Argentines, Finns and Italians. And look, they love Brazil! And particularly those from São Paulo are very well regarded, don't ask me why.

Well, on the second day we rented a car and went to Curuípe and Espelho beach in Caraíva and on the way we stopped to meet a tribe of Indians. Believe! There are many environmental and indigenous protection areas there and they are super receptive and live in harmony with tourists and harassment. And to my surprise I made friends with a sloth that didn't want to let go of its (huge!) nails from my back to return to its owner, a very friendly Indian woman.

Espelho e Curuípe is wonderful! In fact, it’s a word that I won’t stop writing here. I think it's even more wonderful because the path is tortuous to get there. The road is dirt and if it rains you won't get back from there. Worth every minute.

Then we went to Taípe beach, another very beautiful and completely empty beach. We even went topless! Something we love when we go to deserted beaches. If you haven't done it, please do! And if you can swim naked I also recommend it. Just when you get out of the sea, put your bikini back on and don't lose it in the water... lol

On the second day we went to Santo André beach in Sta. Cruz Cabrália, which is a very small town that basically lives off fishing and has very humble and helpful people. It is 48 km from Trancoso and you need to take two ferries. It is worth it! The beach was practically ours, only this time we didn't take off our bikinis…hihihihi. On the way back we visited Arraial d´Ajuda but only a little as it was already late afternoon and we decided to return another day, by bus, as buses leave from Trancoso to Arraial every hour and cost R$ 5,00. After all, we returned the car.

The beaches on the Discovery Coast (they call the region that way, as it was along these beaches that the first boats arrived) are all very good for swimming and the sea is warm. And the kiosks and clubs are for all tastes: family, singles, couples, busy, calm, gay, electronic, axés, forrós, etc. Furthermore, it is a great opportunity to practice your experience with people from other countries and make friends. Oh! An addendum: Bahia is to Amsterdam as Amsterdam is to Bahia… lol

At this point, Tatu was already amazed and even said that she wants to have a guesthouse in Trancoso to live there when she retires or even before that. In other words, in less than 36 hours, she changed her mind. Didn't I say?

Well, the days that followed, now only on the beaches of Trancoso, were extremely “harmful”. Bahia's climate really complements us and the beaches are so nice that we even slept on the sand. During the waxing moon the tide is low and you can go to the middle of the ocean with water up to your legs. The sea is as clear as a swimming pool and without ANY waves, not even waves. The sea is worthy of diving.

Anyway, we Brazilians have a terrible habit of confusing nation with politics. We forget to know our country and criticize everything and everyone without even knowing the cultures of other states. Our country is WONDERFUL! I have never seen a foreigner, whether tourist or immigrant, speak badly about this country. And there's more: those who come here only see opportunities and good people! And we don't value what we have and worse, we don't even bother to get to know it.

TRAVEL AROUND YOUR COUNTRY! BRAZIL IS AWESOME!
