What's New in RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars Season Nine: Meet the Cast and the Altruistic Twist

The ninth season of “RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars” promises to be one of the most exciting yet, with a twist that combines competition and charity. RuPaul announced that this season's prizes, worth $200, will be donated to a charity of the winner's choice. Funding will be provided by The Palette Fund, a new addition that adds an extra layer of meaning to the competition.

This year, the cast of “All Stars” includes some of the most iconic queens to ever grace the show. Among them are Angeria Paris VanMichaels and Jorgeous, both from season 14, Gottmik from season 13, and Nina West and Plastique Tiara from season 11. Roxxxy Andrews, who previously participated in the fifth season and “All Stars 2”, and Shannel, from first season and “All Stars 1”, also return, alongside Vanessa Vanjie Mateo from seasons 10 and 11.

These contestants, known for their unique charisma and exceptional drag skills, will have the chance to showcase their talent once again on the main stage. Roxxxy Andrews' presence, in particular, is highly anticipated given her impressive track record on the show, including a second-place finish on its original season and a fourth-place finish on “All Stars 2.” Likewise, Shannel and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo, both veterans of multiple seasons, bring a rich history and significant fanbase to the competition.

Longtime judges Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, Ross Mathews and Ts Madison return to support RuPaul in the difficult task of judging these iconic performances. The season promises to be full of emotion, talent and, of course, a lot of drama typical of “Drag Race”.

The premiere of “RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars 9” is scheduled for May 17 on the WOW Presents Plus platform in most territories, with the exception of the USA, Canada and Australia, where the season will be broadcast on Paramount+. This season not only raises the bar for competition, but also celebrates the generosity and positive impact that entertainment can have on society.
